Why is Breaking 90 such an important milestone?

If you can break 90 in golf consistently, not only will it show you to be an above-average golfer, but it’ll also make you a happier one too.

Breaking 90 means being able to - more or less - score a bogey on every hole, avoiding costly round-ruining holes and playing nice and steady for a whole round.

For many golfers who struggle to break 90, the prospect of being able to feel confident in your game to this extent feels out of reach, and nothing more than a pipe dream.

But it’s easier than you think, and you can smash through 90 in weeks with the correct tuition.

Imagine teeing off on the first every time you play knowing that, if you play solidly, you could well be in with a shout of winning your match, maybe even a medal.

Imagine enjoying your golf more than ever.

That’s what breaking 90 consistently can do for you, and our coaching plan can get you there fast.

The common barriers to breaking 90

As with Breaking 100, having unrealistic expectations is one of the biggest obstacles stopping golfers regularly shooting below 90.

Most golfers will see the par rating of a hole and put themselves under pressure to make par every time, getting frustrated if they don’t, putting them in a negative mindset for the rest of the round.

But Breaking 90 requires little more than bogeying every hole. So, if you change your approach to your rounds knowing you don’t need to go for potentially costly high-risk shots to shoot par or less, you will give yourself a much better chance of achieving lower scores.

What if I’ve already broken 90?

Does online coaching work?

We have always coached students in person and we know how effective that is – if, and this is the key point, one-to-one coaching is available or affordable to you. For so many people, in-person lessons are too daunting, too costly, take up too much time and so on, meaning that they never improve to the standard they want. Online coaching, however, gives you all the tools you need to improve your game, but without the cost associated. You can do it from anywhere, and every part of golf is covered in our coaching plans. Plus, you get access to the Take Charge Community – where thousands of improving golfers around the world congregate to chat about all things golf and support each other’s journey.

When should I start Break 80?
