Great to hear from you, yes the trail shoulder is massive when it comes to this. If you can combine delaying that trail shoulder and shallowing the club shaft you’re onto a winner! 👍…

Hi Guys,
I think this “over the top” issue is part of my problem.. I can hit a slice or a hook, but a common issue I have is that I’m grounding the club before ball contact and I do feel like I’m coming to far over the top that is contributing to this.
In my practice sessions I think this problem has been covered up by the fact that I’m practicing off a mat instead of on natural grass, so I think this has been hiding this problem as when I go out on to the course my common issues are hitting right or left and grounding the club before contact.
I’m going to watch a couple more videos to get some more ideas to fix this. Thanks for the pointers!
Regards
Andy

Hi Andy, thanks for the comment. If you are grounding the club before the golf ball and hitting it right or left then you are more than likely compensating to stop the ball go right and maybe hanging back. Make sure you check out one of our latest videos “Focus on your face for straighter shots”. This will explain a lot for you. If you get the face in a good spot then its so much easier to fix the over the top and from what sounds like it, your “hanging back”. let me know if that make sense?
Thanks Andy… I think you nailed it (hanging back). One of the things I really like about me and my golf is that you guys do a great job helping with the cause and then providing multiple solutions.

I’ve been following breaking 100 and so far, so good, now starting to shoot regularly under 100. Next, breaking 90.
Thanks again and I really like what you and Piers have put together on this website!
Great. Happy to help. Great work on breaking 100 too. Hopefully uni can keep pushing on and move to the break 90 plan. Have a great Christmas and all the very best for 2019. Looking forward to helping…

Hi Noah yes I’m putting this in this months Q & A. The key is too make sure the ball position doesn’t get too far forward when hitting it off the ground.

Piers,
Wonderful stuff, brother! Personally, I feel my trail shoulder is paramount in (attempting) to go from the inside. Thoughts?

Can you do a video on how to hit a 2 iron off the tee and off the ground?
