Over the last 20 years, we’ve committed ourselves to doing everything we can to help the average golfer play their most enjoyable, confident golf of their lives.
And in the process, we’ve been lucky enough to have been rewarded with a life that we don’t take for granted for one second.
When we get to travel the world to meet some of the best golfers to ever play the game.
When we get to work at incredible, once-in-a-lifetime events with our partners such as Adidas, TaylorMade and Audemars Piguet.
And when we get to meet our members in person for 1:1 coaching.
Golf has given us so much, so now we want to give something back to the game.
We already help thousands and thousands of new golfers around the world start playing this amazing game with our Beginner Roadmap, which contains 3 beginner courses:
These 3 courses, when followed in order, can take an absolute beginner to playing confidently on the golf course in as little as 2 months.
But now we want to do even more.
We want to bring 1 million new golfers into the sport over the next 5 years.
And we want to do it without it costing those new golfers a single penny.
That’s our Mission to a Million pledge, which we were proud to launch at the historic 150th Open Championship at the Home of Golf: St Andrews.
Over the past couple of years, we’ve witnessed golf experience an explosion in popularity, but we know there are so many more potential golfers out there who want to start but perhaps don’t have the time, resources or confidence to begin their journey in the traditional way.
In fact, in 2020 the National Golf Foundation recorded 17 million non-golfers who were ‘very interested’ in playing the sport – an increase of 4.6 million compared to 2016.
And as part of Mission to a Million, we’re completely unlocking our How to Play Golf Level 1 – The Basics program and making it FREE TO ACCESS FOR EVERYONE for the next 5 years.
If you want to get into golf, you can access your free beginner lessons right now, here.
This is a massive undertaking, so we’ve drafted in help from some of the biggest brands in the world – Adidas and Dick’s Sporting Goods – to help us meet our objective.
We’re also going to be working with athletes, content creators and prominent figures in the world of golf and beyond.
Mia Baker, golf content creator and Adidas Ambassador, has already contributed to the campaign – producing a range of new videos that we’d added in to How To Play Golf – The Basics, addressing topics such as:
We think online coaching is the perfect starting point for any budding golfer, because these online lessons are flexible, can be worked on practically anywhere in the world and of course, are free.
All you need is an internet connection, a golf club and a space to practice.
You don’t need to book in lessons with a pro.
You don’t need to worry about what they’ll think about your swing.
You don’t need to turn up to a golf course with a friend and feel embarrassed about how much better they are than you.
Our course helps beginners overcome any potential intimidation they may feel at first by empowering them with the simplest and most effective drills and concepts they need to get started, and then letting them learn and practice in their own way.
Because the truth is, we can give beginners everything they need to know to get started and begin hitting the golf ball consistently and confidently without even having to see their golf swing.
We think this is crucial to keeping new golfers in the sport for years and decades to come.
There are so many reasons!
In fact, here’s Mia – who started playing golf in 2020 – to share her thoughts:
As an experienced golfer, it may seem that this initiative has nothing to do with you, but that’s not the case!
New golfers are much more likely to stick with the sport if a loved one already plays – after all, this takes away any intimidation they may feel if they have to play golf on their own or with strangers!
You can personally vouch for the many positives that golf has brought to your life.
And you can share your knowledge, tips and secrets to the game in a supportive, friendly way!
So if there are people out there that you think would love golf, or that you’d love to be able to see more often, get them involved!
