Good video. Now that I understand, my challenge is to execute. Please do more videos like this as they are helpful. – Randy

    1. Andy

Thanks for the feedback Randy. Will certainly take that on board.

      Thanks

      Andy

Is there any guidance about the clubhead speed needed to get some amount of spin? Just curious how to know if it is realistic to expect to be able to spin the ball. Typically my mid- to short-irons fr…

    1. Andy

It is tough Scott as there are a few factors but if the conditions are good and you produce a good strike, there is no reason that this shouldn’t happen with a mid – short iron.

      Thanks

      Andy

Great video guys, hitting wedge with check spin would be an awesome addition:)

    1. Andy

It’s always nice hitting that check wedge shot Dean!

Not related to this video, but I was wondering if there is an app for your iphone that you recommend for golf courses?

    Thanks,
    Roger

    1. Andy

Hi Roger. What do you mean by golf courses? are you looking to book rounds of golf or a GPS?

      Thanks

      Andy

      1. Roger D.

Sorry about the confusion! GPS so I know distance to greens and such.

        Thanks,
        Roger

        1. Andy

Hi Roger. We have used the 18 birdies app for GPS which seems to be a decent one. Have you looked at any others?

          Thanks

          Andy

Hey guys love the content! I was a 12 handicap, then all of a sudden developed a nasty shank. I am not sure if its a problem with the take away or swinging over the top, but I am struggling mightily w…

    1. Andy

Hi Mike. Firstly check your posture, make sure the weight is on the middle of your feet and you are far enough away from the golf ball. If your setup up is good then your club will be moving “over the…

How can I get forward shaft lean? I have tried a lot of things but I can’t get it. My club face is not open. Thank you.

    1. Piers Ward

Hi Noah there are loads of drills in the Early Release section but one of the best is to play punch shots a lot, if you played only punch irons for a couple of months you’d see that will create more…

What is the best tip for more distance? How far did you hit your 7 iron when you where 16 years old?

    1. Piers Ward

      Hi Noah

If you’re after distance with your irons the best way to look at this is by lowering your dynamic loft (the loft of the club face when striking the ball) if you can lower the dynamic loft …

      1. Noah B.

O.k. Thank you. Should I do the same thing for my driver for more distance?

        1. Piers Ward

No problem Noah, yes this is something you could look at if you feel that the ball flight is too high! If not then make sure the driver is fit for you and you’re hitting the middle of the face.

          Tha…

  8. Olivier

Hi, thanks for the video, interesting, numbers help us get a more concrete picture, keep them coming.

In particular, there are numbers that are often not-discussed, such as dynamic loft, launch angle…

    1. Andy

Hi Olivier. Thanks so much for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video. Yes that is correct regarding the spin loft and dynamic loft. Great that you have a good understanding of the numbers as they…
